Then after episode i can feel it getting stale. I had such high hopes for this diverse season. Overall I find this season more polished than the first but i think the editing and some decisions made it lose its appeal a bit. Compared to the way Starzy's story was handled it felt disrespectful imo. And finally idk if I'm the only one but I found the editing.weirdly dismissive of some of the queens' stories? Esp Kimora, Suki and Adriana who all had pretty serious/important moments, hell 2 big convos about representation and colorism got cut from the show and put as side clip. The Snatch game was a let down but then again S1 was very hard to beat. Eve is also the first CDR queen I find myself actually disliking, from the gross comments on Reddit to her grating personality on show and I got frustrated that they saved her from the bottom or elimination at the expense of Suki and Océane (who should've still been bottom 2 but would've eliminated her because her lipsync was still solid imo). most S1 queens were lipsync powerhouses and unafraid to get messy and I don't see that raw energy from the S2 queen as much as I love the brat pack. Also I was so elated to see 4 quebec queens with immigrant background compete as I find that representation horribly lacking (see how S1 put Rita as THE quebec queen when Kiara was also right there).īut other aspects. Some things are absolutely a step-up like the looks, some challenge performances and some of the judging (which imo upgraded from "wildly wrong" to "sometimes a bit questionable but solid").
idk there are still people i enjoy and it's not baaaad but it's definitely turning out worse than i'd hoped. Then of course there's another country rumix which ?. (like what's funny about reminding people to wear condoms and lube? doesn't the humour come from not actually knowing anything about sex and telling people to wear condoms on their toes for when you rub each other's belly buttons? or just have one of the people just describing marriage bc they're abstinence karens? why did no one seem to try to do a bit but rather do sex education but also be loud as if that makes things funny?) like i reckon océane/stephanie/suki all would've been able to make sex education actually funny, instead of most of the cast literally just doing sex education haha océane, stephanie, suki and probs eve now are up there with my most engaging people in the cast and with them leaving.? that mini-challenge was pretty cringe for me tbh bc it showed none of them left really have strong comedy chops apart from eve who's gone now (and i'm soz synthia just does silly voices and then refuses to tell actual jokes, gia/kimora are the definition of "are you funny or are you just loud?" to me).
Yeah i feel similarly, i started off the season with a lot of enthusiasm and it's trailed away for me. If you'd like to organize an AMA, message us for verification! Related Subreddits
